Jordan's been dying to practice her walking skills when we're out and about so today she got her first pair of big girl shoes! She normally pulls her ribbons out of her hair as soon as I put them there so I figured she would do the same with her shoes. But no! She loves them!!! She spent the rest of the night walking back and forth across our living room with a big, baby grin! When I finally took them off of her feet she carried them around the room playing with them until bedtime. I guess she got loving shoes from her mother. =)

Notre Dame vs. Purdue
First Notre Dame game of the year... and you could feel the anticipation in the air!!! Jordan and daddy were all decked out to cheer for an Irish victory! There's nothing like football to bring a family together. That is, until ND plays Navy, then it's war! I mean... a friendly rivalry. =)

Chicago
Our trip to Chicago did not go as planned! The night before we left Jordan got her first fever and by the next night it had risen to 103.5!!! Luckily, Sean's parents were there and knew the area so we took our baby to the ER. Talk about scary! I just felt so helpless not knowing what to do for the poor thing. I guess that's what Dr's are for. I had no idea what to give her so I just followed the directions on the baby Tylenol bottle to try and reduce the fever. That makes sense right? Except the Dr told me she needed like twice the amount the bottle says which is baffling to me! How am I supposed to give her the right amount of medicine if the bottle tells me the wrong thing!?! Her temperature did finally go down but when we got back home two days later she woke up with red blotches all over her. Back to the Doctor. Turns out she had a virus called Roseola which starts with a high fever and ends with blotches.
Having a baby has definitely turned my worry dial way up and my mild hypochondria is now being transferred onto my poor daughter. I really thought of every terrible thing that could be happening to her... that is except for the most obvious- a common virus. The facts are that 1. I love my daughter. 2. I am paranoid. 3. And I am not in control. I really have to work on that control part! =)
I'm happy to say that Jordan is feeling much better! So much so that she climbed her way right out of her crib to freedom. She lost her diaper along the way too... for dramatic effect I assume. Another reason for me to worry: Did she fall on her head? Could she have a concussion? Broken bones? Nope. She was fine. And quite proud of herself at that!
Anyway, I promised some pictures from our trip to Chicago but as she was sick most of the time this is all I have. Here's the little girl feeling better and, of course, famished!
"I'm feeling much better! Thanks for asking!"

Jordan's First Car
These were taken around a month ago but I haven't been taking pictures recently. I should have lots of fun pictures after this weekend in Chicago! Anyway, here is Jordan with her little car! She loves opening and closing the little compartments (future auto mechanic?) and I added a sash so I can pull her around while she's sitting on it! Video to follow!

Jordan laughing at Daddy
Sean decided to give a Minute to Win it(a tv show) challenge a try. He had to balance up to 12 pencils on the top of his hand and catch them in his palm. Jordan thought it was pretty hilarious... but only when he screwed up. I guess there's nothing like throwing pencils on the floor to make a baby crack up. Go figure!

Jordan's first steps
Jordan officially took her first steps on Thursday!!! She can take 3 or 4 steps in between me and Sean and is just sooo proud of herself! She tries so hard to do it perfectly every time. When she falls she goes right back to where she started and tries again. My little perfectionist. =) I just want to tell her, "It's ok Jordan. You've only been walking for 3 days!" Lol! But when she makes it she jumps into my arms and gives me a big hug! Before we know it, she is going to be full on walking... and destroying everything in sight! Exhausting but so much fun!!!

Peek-A-Boo
It's been a while so I figured it was time to post another video of Jordan! She recently turned 10 months old and has learned a slew of new things from waving to riding her little toy car to playing Peek-A-Boo! I knew that a baby could understand and play Peek-A-Boo at this age but I had no idea they could run the game! What a little smarty pants!
